The Incredibles

I am choosing to write about the scene in the movie the Incredibles when Bob keeps going off on business trips and Hellen finally realizes something's up. She goes in to vacuum, and sees that he has a tear in his suit. He previously had went to the little asian lady to get the suit patched up because he had ripped it in a battle with the first robot. He gets assigned to another assignment, and he tells Hellen it's another conference. She thinks he is cheating on her, but that is not the case. She had also previously found women hair on his suit he had left with when he told her he was going to the conference. She has sufficient evidence to think that he may be cheating now. Until she finds the patch on his suit. She then calls Edina to see what was going on because she knew that was the only one Bob would trust with his suit. Edina then helps Hellen reveal where Bob has been. This is very important because if she hadn't seen the patch she would've never went to help Bob and the kids wouldn't have snuck onto the plane. Therefore, Bob may have been killed when he went to the island by himself. Basically, if she wouldn't have been snooping in Bob's office she wouldn't have went to save him and the whole movie would have been very different. She was still upset with the way Bob lied to her, but she wasn't as upset as she would've been if he were to be cheating. Not to mention the phone call she listened to with Bob and a women talking saying that he would leave soon. This scene happened about an hour and fifteen minutes into the movie before anything serious happened with the family as a whole.

  1. The suspicions by Hellen are very important in the movie and as an audience we can some what predict whats going to happen, when the characters cannot. It is a defining moment for Hellen in the film when she must make a tough choice after this scene to go after her husband without knowing what has happened or what she is getting herself into.
